Okéns Hotel

During the winter and spring of 2010 we have built a 3rd floor with 4 new, tastefully designed rooms. The whole house also has new windows for better insulation and sound deadening.

We are a Danish/Swedish couple named Diba and Gert Okén who own and operate the hotel.
We moved to Varberg after managing a hotel in Key West, Florida, the southernmost point in the USA, for six years.
We took over the hotel in Varberg, which was then called Hotel Bergklinten, in December, 2002.
When we purchased the hotel it was very run down and in poor condition. But, during the winter and spring of 2003, we completely renovated it. We have tried to keep the old world charm while adding all of the modern comforts.

Varberg is close to major cities such as Gothenburg (70 km), Halmstad (70 km), Malmö (200 km) and Copenhagen is only 2,5 hours away. Or why not shop at Gekås in Ullared (30 km). The Ferry to Grenå (Denmark) is 300 meters from our hotel and the train station is within walking distance. (150 meter)

If you arrive by car, parking is available in the Parking Garage which offers free parking 24 hours and is located only 300 meters from our Hotel.

Breakfast at Okéns Hotel

Breakfast is served from 7 am on weekdays and from 8 am on weekends/holidays.

If you wish breakfast served earlier we will be happy to make special arrangements for your convience.
